An Australian reporter had fans in stitches after he was spotted sitting on a roof of a nearby house interviewing a cheeky England fan.

Sports reporter Sam Djodan stole the show as the third Test got underway on day two with the Aussies taking control, The Sun reports.

Pat Cummins dismissed Joe Root with the second ball of the day before Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes also departed.

That left England with an almighty task as they trailed by 121 with just three wickets remaining going into lunch.

However, despite the mood-dampening performance from the Poms at Headingley, those watching at home could not help but laugh at the scenes on the roof of a nearby house.

Three spectators were spotted perched on top of a house neighbouring the ground to get a free view of the action.

However, the boisterous Barmy Army and their singing was not enough to keep one of those cheeky fans entertained.

Footage from Sky Sports’ coverage panned to one of the young men who had fallen asleep with his legs precariously hanging down the valley of the roof and his arms outstretched.

Fortunately they remained unscathed – but they soon found themselves going viral on Twitter as fans Down Under especially loved it.

The antics of the rooftop viewers certainly captured the imagination of the Aussie audience.

And that led to one news anchor climbing up onto a roof to interview a young England fan that was sitting there watching this morning.

After the clip was aired, fans quickly took to Twitter to poke fun at the reporter.

One shared a screengrab of the scenes and wrote: “The microphone wires are killing me.”

Another tweeted: “How do boys start being friends with each other??? You can both just sit on a roof and start chatting tbh.”
